Prophecy; DEAD END - July 18-20, 2008

The dead have arisen.

You have barricaded yourself in your house, anxiously watching the news, waiting for someone, anyone, to help you make sense of this. How did this happen?

Nightmares walk the streets. You recall hearing the stories going back several weeks. First from obscure Asian locales, then a few in Europe, or out west. But it couldn't happen here, could it?

Then it started everywhere. It's been barely a week since the hordes of Infected began their onslaught, and the world went mad. Four days ago, something happened in New York.

There's no power now. No computers. No television. You managed to get a scratchy radio station on a battery-powered radio, heard them say something about "the bomb." Then they started talking about the Safe Zones. Everyone needs to go there, they said. You'd be safe.

You gathered the few weapons and provisions you could scrounge and set out, heading for the nearest Safe Zone in Charlton. Once you get there, you know the government authorities will be able to help you. It's been a desperate fight against the shambling hordes of the walking dead. Some of the creatures that attacked you were once your friends, coworkers and neighbors. You have fought your way through them, your days and nights a living nightmare, but at last, the Safe Zone is in sight.
